MVHC, community businesses raise awareness at Linked in Pink
Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur hosted 16 businesses and over 100 people at its sixth Linked in Pink event, raising awareness for breast cancer and general healthcare.
“It’s kind of neat, because it’s a health awareness event, but nothing is being pushed on you,” said MVHC Communications Coordinator Corrie Eggimann. “I think people like that it’s so accessible.”
The businesses served as vendors at the event, as consumers made their way around collecting goodies and learning. It’s Just Us Photography provided a photo booth, while Radermacher’s donated fruit platters to the event.
MVHC also offered its radiology department, so community members could ask questions of the technicians and sign up for mammograms.
“It’s really important to connect with our community,” Eggimann said. “Just to let them know about the resources we offer. It’s also important for us to support businesses in our community.”
